Synopsis for "So Begins... THE END"

Darkseid reflects on the death of Willie Walker who was killed by an unknown assailant, having a hole blasted in his chest. Darkseid admits that he had never known that Walker was Black Racer and did not register the event as significant at the time, though he does now.

Later, Jimmy Olsen uses his connections with police officer and a tip from the Newsboy Legion (Clone) to gain access to the murder scene where Willie Walker was killed. He later observes the security footage to find that no one entered the room, and only one person exited, a teen in cowboy attire. Unbeknownst to Jimmy, the teen appears to be Serifan of the Forever People.

Metron awakens from a terrible dream in which he witnessed a white and black sphere splitting into two. He is troubled by the fact that he has no idea what the sphere represents.

Big Barda and Miracle Man take a moment away from their preparations for a dinner party with Clark Kent and Lois Lane to stop some petty thieves.

Metron consults the instruments of his Mobius Chair and finds that the universe is in a mysterious state of flux. He determines that he needs additional data to draw a conclusion.

On Apokolips, Darkseid examines an Animate that had been found with its chest torn open. Doctor Bedlam, the creator of the Animate, is missing and not even Darkseid’s portion of the Anti-Life equation can summon him.

On New Genesis a class of young New Gods learn the origins of the New Gods and the Fourth World from a hologram of the deceased Highfather. Takion sees Beautiful Dreamer from across the common area. Before he can approach her, he happens upon Himon, who has recently left Apokolips, due to Darkseid’s increased security efforts there, to lie low on New Genesis. The two go to meet Orion who shows them that the New God Magnar has been killed, a hole in his chest. Takion notes that, because he is a direct link to Source, he should have sensed the death but did not.

On Apokolips Darkseid senses a coming danger and calls all his godly minions to him to stand in defense against the threat, even those that had previously betrayed him. He is then visited by Metron who raises his concerns about the mysterious cosmic event that he believes to be imminent. Darkseid dismisses his concerns. Metron tells him of his dreams, but Darkseid remains unmoved.

Back on Earth, Barda urges Scott to check for messages from Clark Kent, expecting that he and Lois will report that that are running late, and heads into the kitchen to begin dinner. She is proven right, but when Scott enters the kitchen he finds, to his shock and horror, Barda dead with a hole in her chest. It is revealed that Scott possesses control of the full the Anti-Life Equation, which he briefly considers using. In the end he simply says a prayer over his murdered wife.
