Synopsis for "The Trouble With Honor"

On a train in Japan, Deathstroke confronts a man named Tomo of the Sukesada Clan, who has been hired to kill him. Though he hoped for some semblance of honour in Tomo, he is not surprised when Tomo's ninjas attack him. Though he is stronger and faster than they, they are more than he is, and there is strength in numbers. Facing down with Tomo, Slade pressures him to reveal who hired them. Thinking he has the upper hand, Tomo claims that Jenner Collins has guaranteed Deathstroke's demise, as revenge for his own assassination.

Once he learns this, Slade attempts to fight his way through the ninjas, but there are so many of them that he can't possibly hope to fight all of them. Fortunately, he has an exit strategy. Detonating an explosive between the train cars, he uncouples them, and leaps out onto the escaping train, leaving Tomo and his men on the immobile cars left behind.

Later, in Tokyo, Tomo returns to his father, repentant for his failure. However, he claims that their use of the old ways was their downfall. Angrily, his father explains that the old ways are how the Sukesada Clan endured for six hundred years, and would continue to do so in the new world. They cannot reach an agreement, but their time has run out, as Deathstroke soon appears, and aims his dual pistols at both their heads.

He warns them to rescind the contract on his head, or he will not be merciful with them. Even so, the Sukesada Clan is intent on fulfilling the contract, and he is forced to fight numerous ninjas at once, again. Their ancient armour is not strong enough to stop his bullets, and he can easily kill many of them. Finally, he corners Tomo's father, and warns that while he doesn't want to kill him, he will not stand for their attempts to kill him.

Tomo's father is faster than he expects, slicing the barrel of Deathstroke's gun off, and thrusting his blade through his armour. Despite this, Slade uses his opponent's sword as an anchor and puts his own sword to the man's throat. Defeated, he kneels and offers himself willingly. Deathstroke breaks his sword, explaining that he doesn't want to. The contract on his head was in error. He did not kill Jenner Collins. When the man questions why he should believe that claim, he is met with a response from his own son, Tomo, who explains that it was he who killed Collins. With that admission, he thrusts his sword through his father's chest.

Deathstroke muses that at least now he knows who wanted him to kill the Sukesada Clan.
