Deathstroke (Volume 2) #9 is an issue of the series Deathstroke (Volume 2) with a cover date of July, 2012. It was published on May 9, 2012.
Synopsis for "Breaking Out!"
Somewhere, a gathering of crime bosses decides that the time has come to put an end to Deathstroke the Terminator. They call on a Mr. Deadborn to help them in this matter.
Meanwhile, Slade Wilson is busy visiting his former wife's grave. Five years ago, she was taken from him, and since that loss, he has unleashed the monster that she had contained; a killing machine. All of the lives he has taken could not fill the gap that Adeline left in his life.
Suddenly, Slade senses that someone is coming up behind him, and he grabs his assailant by the throat. Donning his armour, Deathstroke faces a number of attackers, who he deems too clumsy and uncoordinated to pose any real threat. He knows, however, that this attack is not meant to kill him. He's being evaluated. That in mind, he intends to make this encounter as short as possible.
He finds himself being raised inexplicably in the air, until he pinpoints the source as a telekinetic on the ground below. Still floating above ground, Deathstroke activates all of the bombs that he had secreted within all of the headstones in the grave yard, having bought up the hill on which his wife was buried long ago.
With his enemies defeated, Deathstroke hears a voice congratulating him. It is a gathering of apparently alien individuals. He warns that the telekinetic will take a bullet in the head if they don't get to the point. They introduce themselves as the Omegas, who are hoping that he will take their offer to seek out an alien known as the most dangerous alien in the cosmos. Deathstroke's interest is piqued, and he accompanies them to their facility.
There, he is introduced to Zealot, who is meant to be his backup on the mission. Deathstroke is dismissive, and intends to ditch her as soon as they get going.
Deathstroke is presented with footage of the wanted alien's escape. Lobo killed the entirety of the rest of his race, the Czarnians. When he was being held by Maxim and the Omegas, he escaped and killed anyone who stood in his way.
