The Decreator is a cosmic entity born from years of blind belief from The Cult of the Unwritten Book.

Belief for his cult

For thousands of centuries, the Decreator was created as a being capable of destroying the human race. His legend was inherited to his fanatics, the Cult of the Unwritten Book, who worshiped the giant eye so that one day it would end the Earth and light their way.

As part of their summoning, two cult members, Martha and Todd Patterson, gave birth to a child, Elliot, who would be the Unwritten Book to summon the being, and when Elliot turned 18, the cult would succeed in summoning the Decreator with all his tattoos ready.[1][2]

Summoned to destroy the world

In 2019, when Elliot turned 18, Martha tried to use him to summon the Decreator, killing Todd for being a traitor, however, Elliot would be rescued by a group of metahuman friends and the sorcerer Willoughby Kipling to try to save humanity. Despite the group's efforts, the executioners of Nürnheim, the Hoodmen, successfully captured Elliot from the Doom Manor, and began to remove the tattoos from his body, successfully summoning the Decreator, granting Martha a new form as thanks.[2]

Staring duel for the fate of the world

The Decreator was seen by humanity as he began to vaporize people, killing everyone in Cloverton, Ohio, just like with Todd. During his assassination of the world, the Decreator began to kill everyone until he was confronted by his counterpart, the Recreator, who was summoned by the group, and the two had a long staring contest to decide the fate of the world. The battle went into the night, with the Recreator as the victor, and the Decreator disappeared forever, causing all the people on Earth to revive, preventing the apocalypse.[1]
