Derek Dood is a kind of administrator of the Afterlife.

History

When Lobo met his demise at the hands of Loo, it posed a significant dilemma for Derek. In an attempt to deal with the Main Man's troublesome soul, Derek first sent him to Heaven, which, unsurprisingly, resulted in chaos caused by the last Czarnian's disruptive presence. Subsequently, Derek consigned Lobo to Hell, but even the demons there couldn't stand the company of the notorious bastich. Lobo underwent reincarnation on two separate occasions, both times leading to calamitous outcomes. Derek developed a strange skin ailment inflicted by the Divine himself; Each failed attempt to rid themselves of Lobo only worsened his situation. Ultimately, Lobo was resurrected in his original, battered body, and a decree from the Afterlife prevented him from ever dying again, effectively rendering him immortal.
