Desmond was a bartender in New Orleans who was a lover of John Constantine.

History

Desmond was possessed by the demon Neron as part of a deal to keep him from taking Constantine's soul. Constantine had no choice but to send Neron back to Hell with Desmond, which left him devastated. Somehow, Neron returned with Desmond's body to torment Constantine.

• Desmond was portrayed by Christian Keyes.
• Desmond and his storyline adapt the character of Oliver (Prime Earth), who was created by Ming Doyle, James Tynion IV, and Riley Rossmo for Constantine: The Hellblazer #1 (August, 2015), who was introduced as John's first canonical "boyfriend" not to appear in flashbacks. The name was likely changed because "Oliver" in the Arrowverse is the name of its most prominent character, Oliver Queen.
