Detective Comics #187 is an issue of the series Detective Comics (Volume 1) with a cover date of September, 1952.
Synopsis for Batman: "The Double Crimes of Two-Face!"
Batman and Robin have organized an exhibition against crime and for this purpose they use some of their most famous trophies. Commissioner Gordon has arranged a guest appearance from the former criminal known as Two-Face, Harvey Dent. Dent is taken to the backstage where he would put on make-up to resemble his time as Two-Face, so he can recant that experience. During the presentation, Dent's crazed alter-ego Two-Face returns. Two-Face then steals his double headed coin and attacks the Dynamic Duo before escaping and starting a new crime spree.
After an extensive chase, Batman and Robin finally manage to corner Two-Face and the villain is accidentally knocked unconscious. Batman notices that the man is, in fact, Harvey Dent in disguise, but for some reason, Batman knows that he is not responsible for the crimes. As Harvey is taken to a hospital, Batman keeps investigating and follows the clues to the man he believes is truly responsible. The manager of the exhibition, George Blake knocked Harvey Dent unconscious and disguised himself as Two-Face in order to frame Dent for the crimes. However, he gave away his scheme by wearing the make-up on the wrong side of his face; having used a newspaper photograph made from a reversed negative as reference. Batman captures the Two-Face impersonator and clears Harvey Dent's name.
