A new criminal, Odo Neval appears in Gotham City claiming to be immortal. Neval offers his immortality elixir to Gotham's underworld after "proving" that he himself is invulnerable. A Gotham crime boss immediately goes on a crime spree in order to secure funds to buy the elixir. Batman captures the crime boss after a robbery and infiltrates the gang in disguise. Soon though, he is discovered and Robin has to intervene in order to save Batman's life. Once rescued, Batman learns that Neval is an impostor, and his elixir is a fake. With an accomplice in the gang Neval planned todemonstrate his "immortality" in order to scam the criminals into paying his ludicrous price.
