Synopsis for "Death Engine"
Nathan Finch is choking Batman and pulling him to the crusher to kill him. Batman stabbed a Batarang into Finch's arm but as most of his body, hir arm was robotic. Gloria Osteen watched the scene and then she remembered how Batman saved her life years ago. She decided to help Batman. Gloria started an hydraulic magnet and she used it to take Finch away from Batman. Finch was left without legs but he still managed to enter a truck and start its engine. Finch got away with the batarang in his arm. Batman used it as a global positioning transmitter to locate Finch.
Batman asked for Robin's assistance in his pursue of Finch. Robin told Batman what he had discovered about the robbery attempt at General Robotics and they deduced it was Finch all the time. Gloria Osteen got back to the General Robotic building and went staright to her room to take the cape that Batman gave her when he saved her as a kid.
Batman followed Finch's trail to a drain entrance that leads to the main drainage system. Batman entered in order to find Finch. Batman found the batarang but not Finch. Suddenly, the robotic man attacked Batman by surprise. Batman managed to free himslef from Finch's grasp but the latter started to run into the main drainage system. Batman followed him and then he realized that Finch was not interested in General Robotics property or Gloria Osteen; he have come back just for revenge against Batman. Finch struck Batman and both fell into the water system. Batman broke one of Finch's robotic arms but then Finch used his other arm to escape. Batman got out of there through a sewer and told Robin and Alfred to wait for him at the batcave while he make one more stop. Gloria Osteen woke up in her room after hearing some noises. She was sleeping with Batman's cape and she found a note attached to a robotic arm. The note said: It's not you he's after and was signed with a bat.
At his hideout, Finch prepared himself to rebuild his body and started to plan his revenge against Batman.
- This is the second part of the storyline featuring Gearhead and his origins.
