Synopsis for "The Randori Stone, Part One"

Four years ago Eddie Hurst was arrested for the murder of his wife and two coworkers. Now he has broken out of prison and hunts down everyone who was involved in his conviction. He kills the two police officers who arrested him and the judge who sentenced him. Oracle alerts the other potential victims to be on their guard, and Batman chases after Hurst, fighting him off when he tries to kill any others; however, he is too strong to be defeated, and Batman realizes his strength is unnatural.

Kira Kelly was a witness to the murders who didn't testify because she had been institutionalized after the horror of the crime. Batman reaches her before Hurst, and when Hurst does arrive, he says, "You didn't kill your wife!" Hurst vanishes in a blast of light, leaving behind a stone carved with hieroglyphics. Kira warns Batman not to touch it, but he does and instantly his injuries are healed and he feels a surge of strength. He asks Kira who really murdered Hurst's wife and coworkers, and she names John Cole, a criminal who targets other criminals. After Batman leaves, she smiles.
