The Ventriloquist (Peyton Riley) kidnaps Harley Quinn from Arkham Asylum and brings her to her hideout. There, she (under the command of her Scarface personality) blackmails Harley Quinn to steal money from a local gang. After going and stealing the money, Harley Quinn delivers it to the Ventriloquist. Upon receiving it, the Ventriloquist attempts to murder Harley Quinn but is soon overpowered when Batman arrives and fights off the Ventriloquist with the help of Harley Quinn. However, the Ventriloquist manages to escape capture. As Batman is taking Harley Quinn back to Arkham Asylum, she tells him of her admiration for the the original Ventriloquist and that she resents Peyton Riley for stealing the "Ventriloquist" name after his death.
