Synopsis for "Hungry City, Part 2"

Batman escapes the car crusher. Bixby Rhodes, also called “the Roadrunner,” takes off, bounding on mechanical legs, but he is caught in the cable of Batman’s grappling gun. Batman asks why he is after Sonia Branch, and when the Roadrunner won’t say why, Batman breaks his mechanical legs and drags him to the Batmobile; however, Gordon tells Batman they won’t be able to hold the Roadrunner because Batman was trespassing and the crusher destroyed the evidence.

Batman and Gordon don’t understand the connection between the dead killer whale and the Roadrunner, and Batman remains suspicious of Sonia Branch. Sonia admits she was scared of Batman due to her family history and hid that criminals have approached her bank to launder their money. Two were particularly insistent: the Roadrunner and a smuggler called “Tiger Shark.”

Batman investigates the old gas pipeline, which he correctly suspected was how Tiger Shark got the killer whale into Gotham. He is cornered underwater by Tiger Shark’s armed ship with more killer whales inside.
