History
During World War II, Diana left Themyscira and joined the fight against the Nazi Party under the codename Wonder Woman. To their surprise, they found Steve had fallen into suspended animation. Awaken, Steve returned to active duty and went on many adventures together. Notably, the two came full circle when Steve convinced Diana not to kill Maxwell Lord. Decades later, the pair teamed-up with with the next generation of heroes to save the Infiniverse from a super powered Thanos. Captain America was gravely wounded in the fight and his honor, Wonder Woman took up his shield.[1]
