The Dimensiometer is a sophisticated safety equipment built by Thar Dan, used as weapon by Shadow Thief.
History
On Thanagar, the scientist Thar Dan created the Dimensiometer as a means of ensuring that the Thanagarians could perform external and internal repairs on their spaceships while at warp speed without suffering collateral damage.[1]
Byth Rok stole one of these units and gave it to Carl Sands,so he could raid the airbase where the Hawkman's command ship was parked.[2]
Carl Sands found Shadowslide[3] whose energies were absorbed by the suit,becoming even more powerful, now being able to manipulate any shadow Carl touched, teleport anywhere through shadows, create portals and create constructs out of it. For instance, Shadow Thief was able to create a shadow replica of the Earth's Moon with the same size and mass.[4] and even rescued Starbreaker from a Universe devoid of energy.
