Dinah Lance was a member of the Justice League of America as the Black Canary, before being selected to be the new Green Lantern in place of Hal Jordan, taking the alias Green Canary.

History

The Black Canary was a member of the Justice League and is the lover of Green Arrow. After killing an infected Hal Jordan with her Canary Cry, she is chosen by the Green Lantern Ring to be the new protector of Sector 2814 and leaves to join the refuge with Superman at the Daily Planet. She and Superman later went looking for survivors in Metropolis, finding The Flash and Kid Flash. Bringing them to the refuge, they soon fight an infected Giganta, who dies when Cyborg blows a hole through her head. Quickly after, Hawkgirl falls from the sky and into Wonder Woman's arms, telling her that Captain Atom is going to blow. As soon as this is revealed, Superman and Wonder Woman take Captain Atom as far as they can away from the planet. However, Atom explodes, destroying Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Metropolis. Fortunately, Green Lantern created a bubble saving the survivors. Later, the group plans to take down all of the internet, so that the infection can only spread from person. Soon, she goes to Gotham City with Batman and Green Arrow, where it is being ruled by Poison Ivy with Harley Quinn. Upon arriving, an infected Killer Croc goes to infect the trio, then being killed by Ivy. Batman then makes a deal with Ivy to have survivors to live in Gotham.

• Black Canary was created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino, first appearing in Flash Comics #86. However, the DCeased version of Black Canary first appeared in DCeased #1 by Tom Taylor and Trevor Hairsine.
