Dmitri Pushkin was both a member of Communist Russia's Rocket Red Brigade and of the Justice League International after the previously assigned Rocket Red #7 was revealed to be a Manhunter android.

A kind-hearted and jolly man with a taste for American culture, Dimitri served with the Justice League International for many years.

During his time serving with Justice League Europe, Maxwell Lord made arrangements with Russian government for Dmitri's wife, Belina, and his two children, Mischa and Tascha, to live with him at the League's Paris Embassy. He also became friends with Animal Man, aka Buddy Baker, in a manner similar to the friendship of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. Dimitri and Buddy initially bonded over their mutual similarities of wives and children.

By the 21st century, Dmitri had retired from super-heroics for a long time before dying during the prelude to the Infinite Crisis in which he sacrificed himself through self-destructing his armor, in order to destroy several O.M.A.C. drones and save the lives of his friends. In his final words he asked Booster Gold to tell his family that he loved them.
