The Rainbow Raider was an enemy of Hero Dial user Robby Reed.

Doc Quin was a criminal scientist who discovered a one-of-a-kind rainbow crystal that when used to focus a laser beam caused him to gain superhuman powers he planned to use to pull off a series of robberies. He would periodically change to a different color of the rainbow and with the change of color his power would change as well, with the robberies timed to coincide with the power he'd need to succeed.

Robby Reed learned of the robberies taking place and unsuccessfully tried to interfere twice by using his H-Dial to become the heroes Balloon Boy and Muscle Man. Ultimately Reed transformed into the hero Radar-Sonar Man, who was able to use his powers to detect and capture the then-invisible Rainbow Raider.

Powers

The Rainbow Raider would cycle through the colors of the visible light spectrum, starting with red, and after a certain period of time had passed he would change to the next color and gain a different power.

  • Red (Energy Projection): During his red phase, the Rainbow Raider could shoot a laser beam from his fingertips capable of cutting through most substances.
  • Orange (Fog Generation): In this state, the Rainbow Raider's hair gave off thick clouds of fog to hide his location.
  • Yellow (Energy Absorption): When yellow, the Rainbow Raider could harmlessly absorb energy, such as the voltage from an electrified fence, and even rob a superhero of their powers.
  • Green (Slow-Motion Ray): While green, the Rainbow Raider could shoot a beam from his eyes that could temporarily reduce the reaction time of his enemies to a rate equivalent to that of plant growth.
  • Blue: Unknown
  • Indigo: Unknown
  • Violet (Size Alteration Ray): During this phase, the Rainbow Raider could fire a beam from his hands that was capable of temporarily shrinking other people and objects.
  • Ultraviolet (Invisibility): After the time spans of his other powers had passed, the Rainbow Raider entered an eighth stage, during which time he was invisible to normal human sight.
