Dr. Pharm is a mysterious figure from Lex Luthor's past bent on revenge for a wrong Luthor committed against him decades ago.
History
Years before Superman came to Metropolis, Luthor attempted to be the city's superhero, while Pharm and his brother Mr. Graft were his major villains. During one of their fights, Luthor saw that they were experimenting with Green Kryptonite, which he had been fascinated with since discovering a shard of it in his hometown of Smallville, Kansas. They decided to put their differences aside and work together as men of science. Whilst working on the Kryptonite, they discovered a way to make its radiation fatal to humans as well as Kryptonians by charging it with yellow sunlight. Luthor eventually decided that the brothers lacked vision, stole all their research for himself and drove them out of town.
