History

After a Firestorm Matrix explosion forcefully separated Ronnie Raymond and Martin Stein, Dr. Ramirez went to investigate the site. While there, a Shadow Demon emerged, forcing Ronnie to merge with Dr. Ramirez and become Firestorm. After they separate, Dr. Ramirez emerges older than before, the Matrix having stolen time from him much like Dr. Stein.
