Dogwood was a half-dog, half-plant hybrid experiment created in a laboratory that went wrong.
History
One day, Dogwood escaped from his laboratory with a tank full of an experimental plant spray that gives trees the ability to think and walk and went to Metropolis to spray the trees and lead them away.
He invaded Krypto's garden and camouflaged himself as a bush. After Krypto and Bat-Hound leave, Dogwood sprayed the tree that Kevin's treehouse was in and talked it into taking a walk.
Later, his army of trees started complaining to him, telling him they wanted to go home. Dogwood convinced them to stay, saying to them that they would have control over humans in exchange for their shade and soil protection. Kevin suddenly interrupts Dogwood's speech when he falled from his treehouse. Dogwood ordered Kevin captured, with his cries for help attracting Krypto.
Dogwood then ordered the trees to throw seeds at Krypto, who avoided all the ammunition. Bat-Hound scared the trees and tried to intimidate Dogwood, who quickly trapped him in vines, threatening to turn said vines into poison ivy if Krypto interfered.
Kevin then tricked Dogwood into generating flowers so the bees could attack him, having Dogwood free Bat-Hound from the vines and focus on the bees. Krypto took advantage of his distraction and tied Dogwood to his own vines, defeating him.
Bat-Hound took Dogwood to the hothouse while Krypto and Kevin helped the trees to go back to their places.[1]
