Don Drake and his girlfriend Betty got stranded on the Planet Saro, where they had several adventures among the midget people of Zetruria and Jarovia.
History
The Crash
Don Drake and Betty accidentally got out of Earth's gravity well during a high-altitude balloon flight. Their gondola was launched into space, and they eventually crashed on the alien planet of Saro, where they were captured by its short inhabitants.[1] After Don saved his captors from the attack of a Many Armed Beast with his Atomic Energy Gun, the midget people offered to take him to their city of Zetruria.[2]
Zetruria
Don's exploits en route to Zetruria earned him a welcome ceremony, but the procession was interrupted by the attack of a sea beast.[3] His attempt to defeat the beast was almost sabotaged by Krenon, the jealous captain of the queen's guard.[4] Yet Don prevailed with the help of Betty and the Women Riders of the Winged Death.[5]
Furious, Krenon staged a coup against Queen Zira, and ordered Don and Betty's arrest.[5] When a monster attacked the city, Don was promised freedom if he defeated the beast.[6] Don was victorious, but the corpse of the beast emitted a poisonous vapor that forced everyone to evacuate the city.[7]
Jerovia
Don, Betty and Zira set out to travel to Jerovia, in hopes of getting help from King Laswan, third cousin of Zira.[8] But the treacherous Krenon tricked Laswan into thinking that Zira wanted to conquer his city, so Laswan's guard captured Don and his friends.[9] Don and Betty were incarcerated in the Room of Blinding Light, when a massive earthquake began to cave-in the underground prison.[10]
