Mayor Don Mitchell, Jr. was the corrupt mayor of Gotham City who secretly helped run the city for Carmine Falcone through the Renewal project before he was exposed by the Riddler.
On Halloween night of 2021, Mayor Mitchell was killed by the Riddler in his home, leaving behind a thumb drive with evidence of the mayor's extramarital affairs, as well as a riddle and cipher for the Batman. After his death, he was succeeded by Bella Reál.[1]
There is a fan-theory that Don Mitchell Jr.'s Son would be a reference to Robin, as in the movie the boy becomes an orphan and is seen wearing a red ninja costume. While not the intention, the director Matt Reeves has admired the idea of the boy evolving into an iteration of Robin.[2]
