Donald Campbell is an assassin known as Omerta.
History
Campbell is the mafia hitman who carried out the hit on the Bertinelli Family, leaving only eight year old Helena Bertinelli alive. Stefano Mandragora was the one who gave the order for the entire Bertinelli Family killed to prevent vendettas and to steal their vast fortune. An underboss of Mandragora, Santo Cassamento(who was actually Helena’s biological father) was the one tasked with completing the hit. He hired Campbell do the job. However, Santo still loved Maria, Helena’s mother, and did not want to anger her brother, Tommy Panessa. So, he told Campbell to “spare the sister.” Campbell did not understand, and spared the daughter, Helena, instead.
Notes
- Enemy of the Huntress
- Campbell was killed by Stefano Mandragora in Huntress Vol 1 6, who in turn fell to his death in the issue. However, the series Huntress: Year One Vol 1, retconned the death of Mandragora as occurring before Helena Bertinelli came to Gotham and officially became Huntress. In Huntress: Year One, Huntress cut out Campbell’s tongue, but he survived.
