Doom Patrol (Volume 2) is a surrealist superhero comic series published by DC Comics, later being moved to their Vertigo imprint. Beginning as a traditional superhero series centered around the titular team, writer Grant Morrison and artist Richard Case transformed the title into a much more bizarre story that explored topics of mental health, anarchism, gender identity, and sexual discovery in an abstract manner. This strange style was continued by Rachel Pollack, who wrote the book until its conclusion.
The title was published from 1987 to 1995, totaling 91 issues, including specials and annuals. It garnered critical acclaim for its mature themes and surreal concepts, and led into the spinoff Flex Mentallo. Gerard Way has cited it as a major influence on his comics, including his own Doom Patrol run, and it was one of the primary influences for HBO Max's television adaptation.
