Synopsis for "The Waters Under the World"

Cliff and Rita encountered the "grandaddy" of the monsters who took them to a giant, glowing structure where he encountered the crew of the missing personnel from the base camp. The Chief ignored Nudge's new uniform as Robotman told him that it would take four hours to break through the ice. Then, Nudge and Grunt went to a room with monitors before returning to the Chief and attempting to inform him about a show on a closed circuit sports network although he was preoccupied after losing contact with Rita and Cliff.

The Negative Man came out of Larry and searched for Cliff and Rita while they listened to a theory about the monsters coming from one of the two planets that crashed into each other to form the Earth and Moon and learned that the monsters had been experimenting on them. Rita entered Cliff's metal glove before he threw her out of the structure and she grew before the Negative Man found them and took him to the middle of the largest monster where he grabbed one of its geysers and caused the others to fall apart along with the structure. The team rushed the others inside of the structure to the surface.

Afterwards, Cliff revealed that he exploited their sensitivity to environmental change and used the toxins from the blood in his brain to defeat them although the Chief wished that there was more time to study the creatures.
