- Given the circumstances...I'm less concerned with how many times we've saved each other...and more concerned with saving the planet just this once.

Earth 2: World's End #21 is an issue of the series Earth 2: World's End (Volume 1) with a cover date of April, 2015. It was published on February 25, 2015.
Synopsis for "Last Hope"
Down in Atom's Haven, the last refuge for Earth 2 survivors, The Flash (Jay Garrick) and Hawkgirl (Kendra Munoz-Saunders) fight off the army of Apokolips and the technology from the god planet that is invading Earth. The invading tech is consuming everything. Jay saves Kendra from being attacked, and they quip about how many times they've saved one another. For now, the goal is saving the planet, though.
Up in the stratosphere above Atom's Haven, Lois Lane (Red Tornado), Power Girl (Kara Zor-El), and Superman II (Val-Zod) regard the invading Apokoliptian satellites. Lois notes that the technology is deconstructing the planet, to make it consumable for Apokolips. Kara exclaims that they need to find a way to destroy all of the enemy satellites, but Val says doing so would cause the debris to put the planet at risk. Kara counters that they can then destroy the debris. She reminds Val of Krypton, and that she doesn't want to lose another home, and won't give up without a fight. Val says that violence isn't going to accomplish anything, but Kara retorts that it is the only answer in this scenario. As they're destroying the satellites and missiles being fired, Lois shouts to them as the satellites release sentry units to attack them, in an effort to drive the heroes back. Kara rallies and attacks the sentry drones, but Val says that they are a distraction, and tries to think of a different solution.
Off the east coast of England, at the Maunsell Sea Forts, Batman II (Thomas Wayne) and Huntress (Helena Wayne) stand in shock as the lights of the fort - inactive a moment ago - turn on and illuminate on the duo. A voice calls out Helena's name over the speakers, and the grandfather and granddaughter exchange a look. A door opens near their feet and the voice tells them to enter. As they descend, Helena teases Thomas about his age, but he replies that they need to be more focused on their escape route, as the door closes automatically behind them. Helena starts to say that if they don't find Oliver Queen, there isn't much point in escaping, but as they walk down a hall, she's cut-off mid-sentence by an archer who appears. The archer shouts that Batman isn't Bruce; everyone is on edge, but as the archer steps into the light, he is revealed to be Oliver Queen, and says he recognizes Helena, even though she's grown up. He welcomes them and offers them some coffee. Helena cuts to the chase and asks about what Bruce had left Oliver to protect. Oliver says that it was designed by the original Wonders (Superman I / Wonder Woman / Batman I). Oliver explains that Bruce created a Codex, which Terry Sloan (Mister Eight) had tried to get his hands on, but Oliver hid away because he (and the rest of the group) disagreed with Sloan. He explains that the fort they're in is filled with laboratories, data banks, and survival facilities, which could be used to rebuild in the event of a cataclysmic event. He shows them two keys which have downloaded the DNA of all living things from the planet. It also contains the known knowledge of mankind.
Over in the Atom's Haven Command Center, Commander Sonia Sato and Lieutenant Ayin discuss their situation. The Apokoliptian technology is corrupting the haven, and Sato says they need to plan their evacuation from the planet. When Ayin checks the escape ships, they are already taking off - without their orders! They attempt to signal the pilots, but they are unresponsive - and their eyes are totally glazed over. Sato radios Hawkgirl and Flash to investigate the hijacked ships. Right after, Ayin's eyes start to glaze over and glow, and someone else's voice speaks through her. The voice tells Sato to stand down, or it will blast her with psychic attacks. It is revealed to be Brainwave (Henry King Jr.), who claims to be the savior of the planet.
Further down beneath Atom's Haven, Ted Grant and Dick Grayson walk amongst the horde of mind-controlled humans. Further ahead, Obsidian (Todd Rice) leads their way. The duo notes that the horde is in a trance-like state, and suspect they aren't being influenced because Obsidian is leading them to Dick's son, Johnny. As they walk down the tunnel, they are hit with a psychic blast. Ted says he needs to rest; Dick says he'll come back to find him after he gets his son. The tunnel opens out to reveal Brainwave, Obsidian, and Jonni Thunder standing in front of one of the escape ships. Brainwave makes a speech that he has chosen the people to be saved by him.
Up above Earth, aboard the TSS Endurance - a multiversal escape ship - Mister Terrific (Michael Holt), Fury, Mister Miracle, Sandman (Wesley Dodds), and Terry Sloan assess the situation. Terrific notes that Apokolips is targeting the ship; Sloan snidely asks if he should unlock the controls for them. Terrific has to restrain Sandman from attacking Sloan, who shouts at him that everything has been his fault, and they should toss him out into space. Sloan retorts that he has done everything for the greater good, and that Miracle would never let them kill him, because he is their only chance of escape. As the satellites of Apokolips approach the ship, Miracle tells Sloan to start the engines and tells Terrific to call Sato and inform her they'll be coming to get the survivors. Sandman, having been released from Holt's grip, punches Sloan. He demands a reason why Sloan brought Darkseid to their planet. Sloan smugly explains that their universe is a feeder universe (as was his original one). In his universe, Sloan went up against Apokolips and won, and he plans to save this Earth, too. With quick button command, Sloan starts the ignition, and sends the ship on a crash course towards Apokolips. Terrific yells at him to do something, but Sloan says he's already taken action. He claims that this is all part of his plan. The TSS Endurance is shown colliding with the satellites and Apokolips, exploding.
