Synopsis for "Flagitious"

It is a bad day in Chicago. Chunks of an alien world are raining down over the world, and the World Army base is on fire. For former journalist Dick Grayson, though, his main worry is his wife Babs and child Johnny. He arrives at them just in time to see his wife be covered in rubble. However, help arrives in the form of woman named Lottie, whose chipper attitude lets her dig through the rubble in no time.

Insisting they have to get to safety, she convinces the Graysons to get onto her bike and come to a safe place. On the way, they meet a group Lottie dismisses as "normal people", who swarm them, demanding food and water before making off with Johnny. Lottie takes a sledgehammer out of the bike's sidecar and attacks the group.

The safe place turns out to be the old Navy Pier, now turned into a crude stockade. Lottie calls it Gomorrah. Dick and Babs are leery, but the whole affair turns out to be a fishing expedition for Babs; Gomorrah wants cops in chains. Johnny is cast out of the camp.

Dick wakes up and is forced to be a food-server. An event of some kind is happening. Gomorrah's leader, The Pastor, iterates that this is the Apocalypse and that they must worship the Beast - a captive Parademon. Lottie sees Dick and comes over. Some people didn't want to wait out the end of the world quietly. Some people wanted to party like there was no tomorrow, because there wasn't one.

The main event begins: Babs being led to the Parademon cage to be fed to it. As the door opens and the creature bursts free, Dick takes advantage of the confusion to beat up Lottie and one of the guards, take Lottie's hammer, break Babs' chains, and escape on Lottie's motorbike.

As they ride back to the camp looking for Johnny, Dick admits to himself that he was scared by how much he enjoyed hitting the guards, but Babs assures him that it was sexy. They agree to work together and get themselves and Johnny on a convoy out of Chicago.
