Ebenezer Jones was a huge worrier. His worrying was contagious which became a headache for the Flash.
History
Ebenezer "Worry Wart" Jones created big problems in Keystone City, for the Flash and everybody else, in 1944 and again in 1946. Inexplicably, his unlimited capacity for pointless worrying was weirdly contagious. Everybody in town was worried for a while, and many bad decisions were made because of it, until the Flash concocted a super-elixer, which eased Jones' many worries.
This worked splendidly at first, but within two years the effect had worn off, and Eb Jones was as much of a nervous wreck as ever, plus not safe to be around either. He returned to Keystone to pester local science genius Jay Garrick, a close friend of the Flash, for another dose of the elixer. This time, Garrick prepared the anti-worry formula in pill form, and prescribed one pill per month. Jones took two, then noticed how good they tasted, and gobbled down the entire supply. He was delirious with joy, quite literally, and quite contagiously too, so that he once again created problems for everyone who encountered him. A great deal of very irresponsible behavior took place in Keystone City, some of it with bad consequences. The Flash was once again able to restore some semblance of normalcy in town, by inventing an electronic apparatus which picked up the false happiness rays as they emanated from Jones' body, and drew them into a tank of acid, where the rays dissolved. For several days afterward, the Flash and everybody else were worried, depressed, and fretful.

- This version of Worry Wart, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–1986 crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the 2022-2023 crossover event Dark Crisis. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
