Ed Reiss was an astronaut on the Mars mission.

History

Reiss and J. Allen Carter were sent on the first Earth mission to Mars. During the mision Carter attempted to pick up a type of crystal he found and ended up triggering an earthquake. Reiss was able to get away but Carter fell into the newly formed chasm, where he accidentally unleashed the Imperium. Reiss returned to Earth with who he thought was Carter but was actually an alien duplicate.
