Elizabeth Arkham was the cruel orphan keeper of Arkham Orphanage who performed experiments on her charges to turn them into monsters.

History

Arkham's experiments were discovered by Prince Kal-El. The orphanage was shut down and she was arrested, but General Waller secretly recruited Arkham to work for her behind the El's backs rather than take her to prison.

• Elizabeth Arkham was created by Len Wein, Grant Morrison, and Dave McKean, first appearing in Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth. However, the Dark Knights of Steel version of Elizabeth Arkham first appeared in Dark Knights of Steel: Tales from the Three Kingdoms #1 by Tom Taylor and Caspar Wijngaard.
