Ella Lane is the mother of Lois Lane.
History
In the 1960s, Ella was awakened by her daughter, Lois, while they were passing through Smallville on a train. Ella brushed off Lois' claim of seeing a boy, who ran faster than the train, as childish fantasies.[1]
Notes
- This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the Donnerverse film series and is an adaptation of Ella Lane. The original character was created by Mort Weisinger and Kurt Schaffenberger and first appeared in Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane #13.
- Ella was portrayed by Noel Neill, who had played Lois Lane twice before. Her role in Superman began a tradition of actresses, who have played Lois Lane in the past, playing her mother in later adaptations.
Trivia
- In Supergirl, Mr. Danvers states that Lois is the family member, in contact with Midvale Prep.[2] It is unknown if Ella and her husband have passed away.
