Eogan Cuailgne, pronounced Owen Cooley, is a Leprechaun from Ireland.

History

He was caught by a airplane when he was sleeping on the top of a tree. Coming in Gotham City, he was captured by a supertitious crook nicknamed "Super" Slade. Slade forced Owen, according with the very magic laws, to serve him. This was reflected in committing crimes. This caught the attention of Green Lantern and Doiby Dickles. Since Doiby looked a lot like his father, Rury, Owen thought the taxi driver was his uncle. The heroic duo was able to free the leprechaun, but as Owen always teasingly threatened to reveal the secret identity of Green Lantern, the Emerald Knight was forced to freeze the tiny magical being in his fireplace. He returned to mobility when his name was broadcast on the radio, and many children began to believe in his existence.

• Metamorphosis: When a smart leprechaun is captured by a human, he's able to change himself into any shape he desires.

• He must give his pot of gold to whomever can capture him, or else he must serve the person until the ransom is paid.

Notes

• This version of Owen Cooley, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
• Given that, in New Earth continuity, Leprechauns are actually a tribe of stranded Maltusians, is reasonable to assume that Owen doesn't exist in Post-Crisis continuity, or that the facts behind his story just happened in a very different way.
