- The world is in sorry shape. It needs a League that knows the difference between right and wrong... a League that knows to do right. That's why we're here.
Extreme Justice #1 is an issue of the series Extreme Justice (Volume 1) with a cover date of February, 1995.
Synopsis for "Mad Dogs and Super Heroes"
Peacekeepers descend upon the new headquarters for Captain Atom's Justice League. Atom convinces them to leave without a fight. Denton Synge gets the news that they have left with a cover story about a mining shaft collapse and orders a second team to investigate. Atom attempts to relax but is confronted by Blue Beetle who wants to know the new team's purpose. Atom explains that they will be more proactive than the mainstream Justice League and no longer beholden to the United Nations.
After his cancer diagnosis,[1] Ronnie Raymond goes to the Justice League Embassy to see his old friends, only to find it in ruins. Oberon and Skeets greet him and the latter decides that they should team up to find Booster Gold.
As they continue exploring Mount Thunder's vast expanse, Amazing Man and Maxima are attacked by Synge's beta team of killer robots who overload Captain Atom with energy, causing him to dissipate.
