The Faultless Four were a short-lived team of scientists, working at espionage, on behalf of an unidentified foreign power, in the late 1930s.

History

They were:

  • Sieur Satan, known to be an intimate of Pierre Laval
  • Serge Orloff, a surgeon
  • Duriel
  • Smythe

Attempting to learn the specifications for the newly-invented "Atomic Bombarder," these villains kidnapped U.S. Army Major Williams, whose daughter then sought out an old college friend for help: Jay Garrick. Very shortly later, the Flash rescued Major Williams, defended a popular recreational beach against an airborne machine gun attack, then located and invaded the Faultless Four's base. To cover his own getaway, Sieur Satan threw a switch that electrocuted all three of his colleagues, then fled in a fast car. The Flash caught him almost immediately, and Satan's panicky attempt to bump The Flash off the road resulted in a fatal swerve, off a steep embankment.

Notes

  • Although this team was originally introduced during DC's Earth-Two era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985-86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the team's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and no longer apply.

Trivia

All four of them had mustaches.
