Synopsis for Doll Man: "The Girl You Couldn't Trust"
Darrel Dane's friend Jeff Gordon breaks up with his girlfriend Maude Van Austin due to Jeff's jealousy over Maude's spending time with Pacardo, a sneaky swine, who's actually blackmailing Maude. On the sidewalk outside, Darrel and Jeff meet abruptly; Jeff leaves in a huff; Darrel and Pacardo meet even more abruptly, and a fistfight ensues, with Pacardo doing all of the punching. Darrel is losing badly until, with an exertion of his will power, he in his business suit becomes Doll Man in his caped costume, then he punches Pacardo half dizzy. But when he hears that Pacardo (who talks to himself out loud) is on his way to meet with Maude, Doll Man hides and rides along.
Inside the Van Austin mansion, Pacardo pitches the deal: Maude should marry Pacardo's boss Yutz, to keep Yutz and Pacardo from spilling the news that Maude's ne'er-do-well brother Bill is a card cheat. Maude accepts this deal, while Doll Man watches from the mantelpiece. Pacardo leaves, and Doll Man turns himself back into Darrel Dane, Maude's old friend, but she won't tell him anything about her problem, so he steps out, changes himself back into Doll Man, and steps back in. Maude is delighted to meet Doll Man, and tells him her tale, also showing him a photostatic copy of the written evidence that supposedly proves Bill's guilt. Doll Man looks it over, then takes it with him when he leaves.
Doll Man finds Bill at a night club, drowning his sorrows, and shows him the so-called evidence, and from Bill's reaction, Doll Man deduces that the note is a fake. He sneaks into Yutz's hideout, eavesdrops on another conversation, then rides along in Yutz's car, en route to the Van Austin place. Pacardo and two other thugs ride along. At Maude's house, Jeff Gordon has returned to try to talk things out with Maude, but when Yutz arrives he directs his hoods to dust off Jeff, but thoroughly! Jeff puts up a surprisingly good fight, plus is soon joined by Doll Man, and very quickly all three henchmen are down. Yutz grabs a gun from under his tuxedo jacket but Jeff punches him out before he can get it aimed.
Despite all that, Maude still has to marry Yutz, so all five of them get in Yutz's car to drive to Judge Wirko's office for a quick wedding. Meanwhile Doll Man gets Jeff together with Bill, gets a police uniform from someplace, changes into it, and gets into position on the road to the Judge's place, then stops Yutz's car. He uses a fake note of his own to trick Yutz into admitting (in front of Bill and Jeff) that the first fake note is a fake. Yutz gets his gun unholstered and aimed, this time, but Darrel in his police uniform shrinks down into Doll Man. A fracas ensues, with Doll Man quickly joined by Jeff and Bill. Very frustrated, Yutz pulls out a submachine gun, but he's not quick enough to use it on Doll Man, and is knocked out. One phone call later the police are on their way, Yutz's plot has been explained, Jeff and Maude have gotten back together, and Doll Man leaves.
