Synopsis for "Breakout!"

Superman tries on the armored suit Emil Hamilton built for him, but Starman is still not convinced that the armor will be enough to keep him safe. Superman leaves the lab and changes to his Clark Kent clothes, but Starman uses his alteration powers to pose as Superman again and show the people of Metropolis that the man of steel is still around. Lex Luthor is furious to see his enemy parading across the city, thinking his scheme with the Krimson Kryptonite failed. But Mister Mxyzptlk shows up and reveals that this Superman is an impostor and that the real Superman is powerless thanks to the Kryptonite they used.

Meanwhile, Killgrave orchestrates a takeover in the Stryker's Island Penitentiary, demanding Superman to arrive, with a trap set for him. "Superman" hears about this mutiny and heads to the prison, falling right into Killgrave's trap. Since Starman is not as powerful as the real Superman, he is seemingly defeated.

Meanwhile, the real Superman asks for the help of Hamilton, Gangbuster, and Guardian to break into the prison. Wearing his armored suit, Superman confronts and pursues Killgrave while Gangbuster and the Guardian deal with his men. Kilgrave shoots a rocket launcher against Superman, destroying his armor, and escapes in a rocket ship. Superman latches onto the aircraft, but the speed and the strong winds are too much for him, so he drops, and Starman catches him, letting Killgrave escape. Back on the ground, Superman feels even more useless.
