Synopsis for "The Heart of the Matter, Part 2 of 3: Rough Justice"

The League don't want Batman to interfere and so they give him a choice, stand down or stand with them. Bruce tells him it's time to take down the League. Batman first knocks Green Lantern out and then manages to weaken Barda. Warhawk still can't fight due to having one wing so Batman goes after Micron. Micron at first gets the upper hand but Batman weakens him, causing him to fall on top of Warhawk and Barda. Aquagirl tries to reason but when that doesn't work, she freezes him in ice. Back inside the mall, Carson holds the hostages at bay. Mary, Terry's mom, tries to calm him down but the hostages take advantage of the distraction by attacking him. Dana continues to wait for Terry but then she gets sick of waiting and leaves. Batman escapes from Aquagirl's ice trap. Green Lantern is about to wake up until Batman knocks him out again. Batman then surrenders as he no longer sees a point in fighting and decides to help the League out only if they do things his way. Before they can answer Kai-Ro attacks him with his power ring. Warhawk is about to join in but Aquagirl stops him and agrees to help him. The SWAT commander Myrick tells them that Carson has the hostages all in one place. Batman needs Green Lantern to break in but he is still too dizzy from Batman's beatings to do anything so the 6 of them decide to enter the mall through the old railway under the mall. Back in the mall, Carson turns all the hostages, including Mary and Matt, into copper statues and by doing that, it unlocks his full power. The 6 come to a wall but thanks to Barda and Warhawk they are able to get through. They enter the mall to find out that Carson has unlocked his full power and has become the second Matter Master.
