Synopsis for "The Long Payback, Part Four"
A mysterious figure in a lab talks about the hypocrisy of Batman, telling he soon will receive a lesson. Terry is fighting for his life against the hunter Stalker, and while the mysterious burglar tries to help him, telling about "settling accounts", Terry delivers an electric charge through Stalker's body, surprising him and freeing himself. The transmission of their fight is being transmitted on the media, as Stalker wants everyone to see him kill the Bat, and so Dana starts getting afraid, calling Bruce and telling him he owes Terry help.
Bruce knows she's right, but he cannot do nothing: he's stuck on a damn wheelchair, too old and injured to act. Matt then starts subjecting that maybe someone else should support Terry in his superhero career, eyeing the Robin suit. But someone else is preparing to help Terry McGinnis: the thief is preparing to give him a hand as a final gesture to prove to Terry himself her redemption. In the burning building where the two are fighting, another man comes: Payback, alias of Kenny Stanton, the employer of Stalker who wants to punish the hunter as he defied his order, being that Payback wanted Batman alive.
Still, Terry is confounded: why should Kenny Stanton, just a kid when he last faced him, come back to haunt him like that? Calling Bruce to dig something about it, Matt learns that Payback was just a kid in a formidable robotic suit, fighting for the attention of his father. Kenny should be getting therapy now, and should not be out again as a criminal. As Terry tries to rescue Stalker from death, the Ten of Hearts comes to help him: Melanie Walker is the identity of the thief, the daughter of the King and Queen of the Royal Flush Gang trying to redeem herself.
Bruce reveals to Matt that she has a crush on Terry and she does not know he's Batman: she just supposes he's watching what she's doing. But then, Payback takes her and teleports away, telling Batman to seek him. Then he detonates a grenade just before leaving, making the building collapse with Terry and Stalker inside.
