Synopsis for "The Remote Controller"

Batman and Robin are out on the streets of Gotham tending to an unconscious man when suddenly a mob of hysterical people rushes past them, seemingly frightened of something. They take the man to a hospital, where they find more delirious patients. The doctor tells them that this was the result of the Scarecrow broadcasting a message on every television channel in the city. Scarecrow said he dosed the majority of Gotham's population with his latest potion due to Halloween taking place the day before.

Batman is unable to find any trace of the fear toxin in the victims' blood, so he concludes that Scarecrow has an entirely new motif. Batman deduces that the root of the fear is a bag from a popular restaurant. When he visits the place, he is greeted by out-of-control workers. After, he realizes Scarecrow must be watching from a high vantage point and goes up a tall tower. At the top, Batman confronts Scarecrow and reveals that his villainous scheme was all a hoax. Scarecrow confesses on camera that the citizens were so gullible that he just told them to be scared and they believed it.

Later, Batman tells Batgirl that although the people have calmed down, he is unsettled by the fact that the entire city went crazy from a suggestion on TV, then reverted because of another suggestion.
