Colonel Computron was a disgruntled toymaker who sought revenge against his employer, but was stopped by the Flash.

Basil Nurblin worked for the Wiggins Toy Corporation. Nurblin invented the popular Captain Computron toy in which his employer, Willard Wiggins, stole the patent for his invention. Angered, Nurblin sought revenge on Wiggins. He created and donned on a suit based on his toy, dubbing himself Colonel Computron, and made multiple attempts on killing Wiggins but only to be thwarted by The Flash.

Nurblin soon gave up his revenge and reformed, and started his own toy factory chain. However, his business did not go well. The criminal organization the Thousand Eyes attempted to lure Nurblin out of retirement, but his daughter Luna intercepted their message and temporarily decided to put on her father's suit and accepted their employment in order to help her father's financial troubles.[2]

At some point Nurblin allowed his daughter to take over the family business and returned to being Colonel Computron—somehow becoming a floating disembodied head. He was later recruited by Amanda Waller to manipulate the Santa Prisca elections in preventing Bane from winning. An outraged Bane mounted a manhunt for Colonel Computron, who then desperately sought for Checkmate's help to extradite him from the island in exchange for giving information on who ordered him to rig the elections. But Computron was unaware that his client worked for Checkmate. When Computron waited for the Checkmate agents for his extraction, he is instead burned to death by Fire on the orders of Waller.[3]

Abilities

Equipment

  • Colonel Computron's costume is a portable computer system capable of determining to the nth degree the amount of effort needed to accomplish any physical act as well as a powerful exoskeleton easily able to exert that force. His suit allows him to demonstrate superhuman strength, the capacity for super-swift reasoning, and the ability to construct sophisticated automatons, called Blips.[1]

  • Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
