Synopsis for "Tangled Webs"
The Darkstars continue to fight the Thodians on Drezen Prime. Colos and his deputies force the Thodians to hit each other in the crossfire, leaving only one still standing. When Colos is near an agreement with the Thodians, the Drezenites ambush both groups, trapping them in some energy webs. The Drezenite reveals that there's no cure for John Flint, and that they asked the Darkstars to protect them only to get rid of the Thodians. Now the Drezenites plan to sell the Darkstars to the Syndicate. The Darkstars escape by shooting their masers toward Payback, who absorbs the energy and blows the force fields. With no hope to find a cure to Flint's condition on Drezen Prime, the Darkstars leave the planet to the Thodians' hands.
Meanwhile, Huvah Jeddigar discovers Colos lied when he reported not having seen Merayn Dethalis. Simultaneously, the Controller shows John Stewart what happened with Dethalis and that the "weapon" she stole was a newborn universe created by Jeddigar's Astro-technicians. Jeddigar planned to supplant the current universe with one of his own designs, free of the Controller's authority.
Later, Jeddigar receives Donna Troy at NEMO headquarters and tells her that she is soon to be Ferrin Colos' replacement. However, Donna has to go through surgery to use the Exo-Suit properly.
Before Colos could return to Earth, Prigatz informs him that he has been summoned to stand on trial at NEMO Central.
