Synopsis for "All Good Deeds..."

In the skies over Siberia, Solomon Grundy and the avatar of White (Sam Zhao) battle with the remaining Furies of Apokolips (War, Death, Pestilence). The Furies tell Sam to give up, as his battle is pointless; he says that as long as one avatar remains, they cannot lose. Just as Sam is about to succumb to Pestilence, Green Lantern arrives, knocking her away from him. He says that he’d heard Sam’s earlier plea for help. Green Lantern says that he doesn’t want to lose him again; Sam tries to explain that he isn’t the same person anymore, but Alan cuts him off, reminding him that he’d just called out his first name when the situation became dire. Taking the battle down to earth, the two fight off the Furies, along with Solomon Grundy, who is reforming. Alan says that he needs to protect the world from the falling moon debris caused by Apokolips’ impact; Sam argues that finding the avatars of the Blue and the Red is priority.

Meanwhile, above Atlantis, a large piece of Moon debris comes crashing to Earth. There is a cut to the Parliament of Earth, with The Blue saying that its avatar has awoken. The White suggests that a new avatar for Blue be chosen; Gray says it cannot be stopped once it is unleashed. Red reminds the group that centuries ago, the Atlanteans chose to seal away Azathoth as a last line of defense for the whole planet. Blue says that it’s done and there is no going back. The scene cuts back to Atlantis, with Azathoth bursting up from the waters and destroying the debris as it goes.

In the Chicago World Army Stronghold, people wait for the last train leaving the station, heading for evacuation. John Constantine, Jonni, Obsidian, and Brainwave look on from a vantage point as masses of people try to climb aboard the train. Jonni is skeptical of Constantine’s plan; he says that his plan was gathering the group, and destiny will take care of the rest. Atop the train, there are men claiming that they get to decide who gets on the train, having claimed it as theirs, and literally kicking people off of it so that it can depart. They beat off others with baseball bats. Using his powers, Brainwave senses that people are rioting because there is an incoming tidal wave from Lake Michigan, which will wipeout everything here within an hour. Obsidian notes that they need to get on the train; Constantine quips that it seems to be full. Closer to the train, Barbara Gordon-Grayson, Dick Grayson, and their son attempt to board the locomotive. Apparently the debris strike that hit the stronghold did not kill her and her son, only separated them from Dick for a bit. One of the men atop the train car propositions Barbara; she attempts to climb the ladder on the side of the train car and tells Dick to follow her. Constantine’s group watches and decides not to interfere yet. The man on the car kicks Barbara off as she almost reaches the roof, and luckily Dick catches her. Incensed, Barbara picks up a rock and throws it at that man, hitting him right in the eye and knocking him off the car. However, after he falls to the ground, he pulls out his gun and shoots Barbara, as Dick and their son scream for her. Constantine contemplates his choice not to interfere as we see Dick cradling his wife’s body and their son standing behind him, confused.

In Desaad’s Cloning Facility beneath the Fire Pits of Earth 2, the group laments the loss of Helena. Lois, still holding Clark’s emblem which they’d found, comforts Thomas; Val comforts Kara, who starts to spiral, saying it was her fault, that she had pushed Helena to try and find a way back to their Earth. Kara insists they have to rescue her; Thomas shouts that she is gone. Kara reasserts that if she is dead, all the more reason for them to find Desaad and ensure he doesn’t turn Huntress into a parade on. Thomas, Val, and Kara take off down the hallway to avenge their loss. Lois considers Clark’s shield, and then puts the piece of cloth in a pocket/compartment on her chest, before following after the group. As they make their way down the hallway, a robot appears and attacks them. Kara deftly destroys its primary weapon, and then pins it to the floor, demanding to know where Desaad is. The robot speaks in Apokoliptonian, and not understanding, Kara smashes it. Lois calls to her; Kara says that it was only a machine, and then realizing the implication of this, starts to apologize. She says that unlike Red Tornado, the security robot and parademons are mindless drones, and of course Lois is much more than that, and her mother. Lois, seemingly unfazed, beckons Kara once more to the pane of glass where she’s standing; as Kara approaches, Lois asks her to confirm that she isn’t imagining things. They look down and see what seems to be the actual and original body of Clark Kent, restrained in a chamber below. Resolved not to lose her cool, Lois bursts through the windows of the chamber and flies down to the body. She approaches it and softly says Clark’s name. He opens his eyes and weakly says her name. Realizing it is, in fact, her husband, she helps him out of the restraints. The rest of the group comes down to join them. Thomas makes a snide remark and, given that he is covered in the power suit, Clark thinks he is Bruce. Thomas goes up to Clark and punches him across the face - Lois yells at him to stop - and Thomas begins shouting at Clark, angry that instead of saving humanity, he has instead been fueling the enemy. Val tries to placate the situation, saying that Thomas is upset from everything going on and the withdrawal from the Miraclo. Kara is amazed that Kal is really alive, but realizes that he’s also bleeding from Batman’s punch.

Back in New York City, the Flash tries to reason with Hawkgirl, who is consumed by War’s rage. Jay’s mother steps in and tries to reason with Kendra, and it seems that she gets through to her, as Mrs. Garrick reminds her that she must have family and loved ones, trying to bring her to her senses. As a tear rolls down Kendra’s cheek, she nonetheless continues firing her weapons at them, with Jay deftly blocking her. As Jay wrangles with Kendra, a loud boom is heard in the sky, and Dr. Fate and Jimmy Olsen appear. Fate says he will attempt to transmute the rage into a thunderstorm to remove War’s curse from them. This time, unlike with Famine, the spell works as intended. Mrs. Garrick comforts Kendra as she comes back to her senses, and Fate says that order has been restored, at least for now.

Over on Apokolips, aboard the Shackleton Assault Craft (currently landed on the surface of the invading god planet), Sloan checks in with the rest of the squad as he suits up. The Sandmen, Commander Khan, and Mr. Terrific all say they were able to place their bombs on the planet’s surface. Khan asks if Sloan has contact with Mister Miracle, Big Barda, and Fury; Sloan says that the comms link to them has gone down. Elsewhere on the planet, those three fly above the ground, with Barda asking why they don’t go directly to the Mobius Chamber. Miracle says that they need to get the key from Paternus, one of the Apokoliptian nobles. Fury is just hungry for vengeance. The three of them burst through the wall to Paternus’ chamber, startling him. Miracle demands he hand over the Star Key. Parternus laughs at the threat, saying they are mere children, and cannot rival his power. Fury and Barda both start attacking him, and he uses a beam from his forehead, blasting the two women back. He tells Miracle that he is attacking the wrong New God in his quest for revenge. Paternus calls him a pawn between Darkseid and High Father, and tells him that he isn’t Darkseid’s real son. As he says this, he opens a panel in the floor, and moves his big head forward, saying he will now reclaim his true body. Before this can happen, Miracle swoops in and steals the Star Key from Paternus’ forehead. Miracle starts to fly towards the Mobius Chamber, asking Fury and Barda to keep the now-reformed Paternus busy while he goes there. Fury is eager for a tougher opponent; Barda ominously mutters to herself that Miracle is doing exactly what “he” said he would do. Miracle arrives at the chamber entrance and uses the key to open the door. He thinks to himself that he was raised on this planet and knows its secrets, and he’ll show Darkseid just whose son he really is, as he flies down into the Mobius Chamber.
