Ectreba was enslaved by the Sangtee Empire, and escaped during a slave revolt lead by Wonder Woman.

While Ectreba was enslaved on Hope's End she was among the most volatile of those held on the desolate mining outpost. She regularly got in tussles with the Khund guards and fought the other enslaved women for control of food, though never restricted access to food for children. She and Sakritt were at top of the hierarchy among those enslaved on Hope's End because other women feared them and respected them for their willingness to attack the guards despite the painful repercussions. Following their escape she became part of Wonder Woman's pirate group that continued freeing slaves with guerrilla tactics before forcing the empire to abolish slavery altogether, though Ectreba did not always see eye-to-eye with the Amazon as she was in favor of more deadly tactics. In the end Diana's insistence on less lethal tactics was key to having enough kreel nobles sympathetic to their cause to rid the empire of the institution, and their relative disconnect from splinter factions and other groups that were killing slavers made their group the accepted honorable representation of the slave liberation movement.

When Wonder Woman and Natasha Teranova were able to return to Earth using Julia of Daxam's intel on its locale relative to the Sangtee Empire, it was Ectreba who became the new captain to the revolutionaries and freed slaves who had not scattered or were still trying to find their way home. She also vowed to keep an eye on the Kreel and make sure their empire did not attempt to bring back slavery. The rebellious Dominator Sakritt became her lieutenant.
