Synopsis for "The Third Identity of Replikon!"

An energy-based alien gets inside an asteroid probe that passes close to the JLA Satellite. The probe malfunctions and gets in collision course toward Earth, but Green Lantern averts the disaster by landing it on Ferris Airfield. They put it inside Hal Jordan's truck, and when they are ready to take it to Star City, the alien reveals himself and attacks Green Lantern. The invader, whose appearance looks like an amalgam of Batman, Wonder Woman, and Flash, escapes by sky-rocketing. Hal and Carol get in the truck and head to Star City.

The next day, Green Arrow and Black Canary prevent a gang from stealing Dinah's Flower Shop. Suddenly, the invading alien, calling himself Replikon, appears before them. Green Lantern arrives afterward, but his ring nor Ollie's arrows seem to affect the alien. However, they managed to beat him by combining their attacks. Replikon escapes again, charging upwards, Green Lantern hanging from him, but he turns into his energy form and lets Ollie fall. Green Lantern saves the falling archer, but then they part ways.

Hal Jordan goes to a restaurant hoping to have dinner with Carol. But he finds her with a mysterious man called Andre, so he leaves them alone. Unbeknownst to both of them, Andre is actually Replikon in a human disguise, learning about the world he just invaded.

Synopsis for "The Champion of the Green Flame"

While flying through the night sky of Gotham City, Green Lantern gets hit by a green explosion coming out of a building. He is startled to find out that all wooden items are intact, so he figures it must have been caused by similar energy from his ring. Inside the building, Alan encounters a group of looters. Accidentally, he blasts one of them, and, taking advantage of his confusion, they get the upper hand. However, Green Lantern defeats them in hand-to-hand combat in the end, without using his ring. Alan gets walks away from the scene before the police arrive, but he's unaware that a woman is observing him.

Later, inside Jay Garrick's home, Alan tells Jay about his problems with the power ring and how he feels uncertain of using it. However, Jay convinces Alan to carry on with the investigation and not give up being a hero. After his friend's advice, Alan recharges his ring and takes off.

Back in the building of the explosion, Alan finds a trail of green energy, similar to the one of his ring. However, the trail comes from the opposite direction he was heading when the blast happened, so he follows it and ends up in Chinatown. He finds a secret tong meeting who refer to him as the Champion of the Green Flame. The members of the cult attack him, be someone catches him by surprise and knocks him out. With Green Lantern sprawled unconscious on the floor, a henchman reaches for the ring, hoping to claim its power.
