Joe Danton was one of the leaders of Intergang.

Taking over the leadership of Intergang from Morgan Edge (or rather his Evil Factory-spawned clone), Danton decided that his organization had two great enemies: Jimmy Olsen, whose interference scuttled numerous Intergang operations under his predecessor, and rival crime-combine The 100. In order to get a message across to both, Danton had Winky McCoy, an Intergang hood who defected to the 100, murdered, and placed a ginger wig over his head before tossing his body through the window of the Galaxy Communications building. Later that day, Jimmy encountered Danton in a local restaurant and confronted him about the implicit threat against his person. While Jimmy became embroiled in a scuffle with some of Danton's men, Danton accepted the more graceful request by Jimmy's fellow Daily Planet reporter Meg Tempest to arrange an interview. As Jimmy related the day's events to Clark Kent, Intergang attempted to mow the both of them down in a drive-by shooting. This incident brought Danton to the attention of Superman, who turned the shooters over to the police and interrupted Meg's interview with Danton to drag Danton to Metropolis Park. The relatively well-dressed Danton was near-immediately set upon by desperate drug addicts. After letting the would-be muggers wale on Danton for a few seconds, Superman intervened to stop them, but made sure to impress upon Danton that it was his own criminal profession which brought such destitution and misery upon the people that they would be reduced to such a level. Unimpressed by Superman's morality, Danton contemplated the beginnings of an anti-Superman scheme, but he was caught in a car bomb detonation and killed instantly mere moments later.[1] Danton was succeeded as leader of Intergang by Max Danner.[2]
