Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #214 is an issue of the series Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight (Volume 1) with a cover date of March, 2007.

Synopsis for "Superstitious and Cowardly"

Batman intimidates Leland Lindsay into testifying against his boss Mr. Morel. To prevent that from happening, Morel brings in Deadshot to kill him. Batman stops him, and they fight, but when Batman says he's going to bring him in, Deadshot reveals he has a clean record thanks to the Suicide Squad and permits for all the weapons Batman just broke.

Lindsay sees Batman fighting Deadshot on the rooftop, and he decides against testifying. Batman goes to his safe house to intimidate him again, but his fear of Deadshot trumps his fear of Batman. The only thing he can do is convinced Deadshot to give up the job.

Batman finds Deadshot at a shooting range and gives him a file filled with photos of his woman and child. If he can find them, any of Deadshot's enemies can. Batman offers to put them under the same protection the Justice League uses for their families if he drops the job, but Deadshot says he'll increase their protection himself.

Batman returns to the Batcave where he has an epiphany. He tells James Gordon to put Lindsay on the stand the next day.

Outside the courthouse, while Deadshot prepares to kill Lindsay, Morel is arrested for his failure to pay taxes and his assets are frozen. Deadshot refuses to complete the job if he isn't paid, and Lindsay goes through with testifying.
