Synopsis for "Trial by Fire, Part 3: Bad Influence"

Kate figures that someone is trying to bust Shadow-Thief out of confinement or trying to kill him. Kate heads to the secret corridor within the courthouse where prisoners are transferred without being seen by the public. Kate finds Shadow-Thief at the mercy of Cheshire. Cheshire engages Manhunter and scratches her with poisonous fingertips. Kate starts to feel unbalanced because Cheshire's fingernails were laced with Black Mamba venom. Cheshire tries to scratch Kate again but Kate engages a magnetic feature on her bo staff which rips off Cheshire's fingernails. Cheshire reels in pain and escapes without Shadow-Thief. Kate puts Shadow-Thief back into custody and makes her getaway. Kate arrives on Dylan Battle's doorstep and tells Dylan what happened before she passes out. Dylan tells his prostitute to leave then runs to his secret stash of goods that he had acquired from his years of being a lackey for super villains. Dylan uses some anti-venom that he pilfered from his time with Kobra.

Kate wakes up the next day, thanks Dylan and realizes that she is late for the court proceedings. Kate arrives at the courthouse and asks to call in her next witness...Felicity Smoake-Raymond. Felicity talks about her relationship with Ronnie Raymond. She was Ronnie's step mother as well as the first person to learn about the bond between Ronnie and Dr. Stein. Kate also calls in Ronnie Raymond's father. Ronnie's father gives a tearful testimony of how his son was such a fighter even when he had leukemia and a selfless hero. Across town, Merlyn observes the latest court proceedings and shoots the TV with his arrows. Monocle tells Merlyn to be patient until they receive the go ahead to eliminate Shadow-Thief. Phobia appears and tells her operatives that she is leading the assault.
