Mark Merlin is a super-hero and supernatural detective who uses occult artifacts. In his adventures he is assisted by fiancee Elsa Magnusson and his black cat Memakata. Eventually his body was lost in another dimension, but he gained powers when his spirit was resurrected in the body of Prince Ra-Man. This allowed him to continue his career as an adventurer until Ra-Man's body was destroyed during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Mark Merlin was created by Mort Meskin, first appearing in House of Secrets #23. (1959) His appearance as Prince Ra-Man was created by Jack Miller and Bernard Baily, first appearing in House of Secrets #73. (1965)
