Notes
- Atlantic Patrol
- The German fighter plane is called an "ME-109" by the bombardier, but the art shows an ME-110. Both art and script are by Fred Guardineer.
- Lt. Stell was a real person, and was killed in action after this story, in 1944.
- Blackhawk:
- Story is set in Occupied China, and all the Chinese people look like normal people, except Chop Chop. Japanese occupation troops, who also look like normal people, instantly recognize Chop Chop.
- Chop Chop definitely does fly one of the Grumman Skyrockets on this mission.
- At Blackhawk Squadron sing-alongs, Olaf plays the accordion, and Chop Chop plays ukelele.
- The Japanese Commanding General is not shown to be captured or killed, although he does get tossed around a bit by Blackhawk. At story's end, he seems to still be at large.
- In the final panel, Blackhawk breaks the Fourth Wall to fingerpoint the reader and admonish us: "Friends, that's the true tale of Wang the Tiger! As long as there are men like him in the world, no tyrant can ever win a lasting victory!"
- Death Patrol
- This issue the whole Death Patrol appears in the same story, for the first time since issue #20.
- Death Patrol arrives in their captured Japanese Submarine Aircraft Carrier. When last seen, in the 6th panel of the 3rd page of last issue's story, this vessel had a hull breach, was already submerged, and was flooding. Also the whole team had abandoned it.
- Most of the Death Patrol's customized fighter planes have open cockpits. Despite this, they are launched from a submerged carrier, and fly underwater.
- Cliffhanger: A giant mechanical fish sucks all of the Death Patrol planes into its interior.
- PT Boat
- On page 2 panel 3, Perry Tobias introduces his pal as "Ensign Paul Harvey." They both were definitely Lieutenants, starting in Military Comics #22. Next issue, their squadron boss addresses Perry as "Ensign Tobias," and calls Paul "Lieutenant Harvey."
- Again their PT Boat has no hull number, they embark with no crew, and they still wear their dress white uniforms on combat missions.
- Paul and Perry have another fistfight.
- Secret War News
