Synopsis for "After the Fall"

Metron finds Orion drifting in space and brings him to New Genesis, where the inhabitants give in to mundane pleasures to celebrate Darkseid's death. Orion gets disgusted seeing the scene, to the point of defending Darkseid's glory. Lightray shows up, confronting Orion with a very out-of-character and argumentative attitude. Overwhelmed by the scene, Orion flies off to speak with Highfather.

Sensing a disturbance in The Source, Highfather seeks the Source Wall's wisdom, but the Wall closes up to him. Unable to find the truth through his usual means, Highfather starts a "journey into darkness" to find answers. Orion arrives late to the temple, without any trace of Highfather, and he starts to see the effects of the Source's corruption on himself as a grey lump grows on his torso.

Highfather's quest takes him to the land of the Primitive Gods of New Genesis. The populace suffers a plague seemingly caused by the the Sky Gods of New Genesis. Izaya tries to speak the the Primitives' link with the Source, but it's also closed shut. With nowhere else to turn for answers, Highfather reluctantly seeks the wisdom of the oracle K'zandr, who shows him a vision of the future to Highfather, where Izaya sees himself destroying the Source.
